In 1975, Antonino Amuro founded ETS with a belief that still guides us today: exceptional journeys are created through meticulous planning, deep local knowledge and attention to detail.
A pioneer of organised travel in Italy, he understood that what makes a journey memorable often lies in the details travellers rarely notice. This vision was complemented by a family tradition of hospitality, with his wife Paola still managing one of Sorrento’s historic hotels.
Today, under Roberto Amuro’s leadership, ETS continues to evolve while remaining faithful to these roots, combining personal care, privileged local access and carefully curated experiences.
Because true luxury is rarely about doing more. It is about doing things better.
The Story of the Founder
In the vibrant Sorrento of the 1960s, Antonino Amuro, born in 1940, discovered the world of tourism and immediately understood that travel is above all an encounter between people. After his first experiences in local agencies, he became the representative of the British tour operator CIT, a role that allowed him to refine his English, build strong relationships, and grasp the needs of international travelers.
From this awareness, a dream took shape: creating a bridge between Italy and the world. In 1975 he founded Executive Travel Service, initially dedicated to trips between Italy and Scandinavia. The agreement with Air France opened new routes toward France, European capitals, the United States, Canada, and Australia.
Despite rapid growth, Antonino remained loyal to his philosophy: authentic hospitality, cared for in every detail. ETS expanded with offices in Bari, Rome, Paris, and Lugano, while he continued to oversee the family hotels. The acquisition of Hotel Plaza became the symbol of his forward-looking spirit. Today, his vision lives on through ETS.
